I created a series of Empty State illustrations for AT&T TV.

Empty states are moments in a user’s experience with a product where there is nothing to display.

As a lead designer, the project was to create initial empty state illustrations, using simple visual metaphors along with short, simple text—with a touch of delight, humor & fun. I also worked on creating the comprehensive AT&T TV Illustration Style-guide.

Role: Lead UI Designer

Platform: TV, mobile, tablet

Skills: Requirements Gathering, Word Clouding, Visual Audit, Modular Designing, Stakeholders Presentation and Demos, Aligning design milestones under strict timelines.

Identity Mosaics

I created an Identity Mosaic that captures AT&T TV UI components across various sections of the app to get a sense of the overall style that matches with the illustration style.

Fidelity Spectrum

As part of the immersion process, I started with the lowest density line drawing of the metaphor, then adding more definition to the shape.

Execution

Derived from candidate versions, I created visual mockups for mobile, web and 10ft to put these illustrations in context.

Illustration Style Guide

A style guide was created as a reference for artist and designers, highlighting basic fundamental rules when creating illustrative artwork.
